Every Selfhood Studios extension is built local-first. Your work — downloads, notes, bookmarks, screenshots, research threads, sessions — lives in IndexedDB and chrome.storage.local on your machine. We run no sync servers, require no accounts, and collect no analytics.
Where AI is involved, it runs on-device first (Gemini Nano, local embeddings, Ollama, WebLLM). When you want more power, you bring your own API key and calls go directly from your browser to your chosen provider. We are never in the middle.
The practical consequence: if you uninstall an extension, export your data first — because we couldn't recover it for you even if you asked. There is no copy anywhere else.
